Gilly Bachelor

Gilly has been a Director and shareholder of Van Guru since the company’s inception, playing an instrumental role in shaping the business from its earliest stages. As Chairman of the Board, she provides strategic leadership and guidance, helping to define the company’s long-term vision while ensuring it remains focused on sustainable growth, innovation, and delivering exceptional customer value.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Gilly brings a wealth of experience in senior marketing, communications, and business leadership roles. She has held key positions with a number of leading organisations, including NatWest, Amey, and BT, where she developed extensive expertise in brand development, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, and business strategy. Her experience also extends into the automotive sector, having served as Brand Director for a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle franchise, giving her a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle market and the evolving needs of fleet customers.

Alongside her role at Van Guru, Gilly is the owner and Managing Director of a highly successful travel business. Her experience of building and leading successful organisations provides valuable commercial insight and entrepreneurial expertise, which she brings to the Board and wider leadership team.

Working on a part-time basis, Gilly’s primary focus is on the strategic direction and long-term success of Van Guru. She is responsible for helping to formulate and oversee the company’s growth strategy, ensuring the business continues to strengthen its market position while maintaining a clear and consistent brand identity. She works closely with the executive team to support sustainable expansion, identify new opportunities, and ensure the business remains at the forefront of the rapidly evolving electric commercial vehicle market.

Gilly’s strategic vision, commercial acumen, and extensive leadership experience continue to play a vital role in Van Guru’s ongoing success and its ambition to become the UK’s leading specialist in light commercial vehicles.
